Northern Bank employee volunteers lend hand to displaced family
Northern Bank employees recently helped a displaced family move into permanent housing through nonprofit Heading Home's “Up & Out” program.
Since 2012, the Northern Bank Charitable Foundation has provided financial support to non-profits and other community organizations doing work to strengthen the cities and towns of Middlesex County. Our charitable focus is on assisting our most vulnerable citizens and encompasses hunger relief, housing, education, and expanded youth and social services.
We are so very pleased to announce that this past month, the Foundation has surpassed the $1 Million mark in total giving since the Foundation began in 2012. Through the contributions and efforts of everyone in the Northern Bank family, we have been able to support over 56 organizations, award 5 scholarships, and provide much needed relief to community members and individuals. Last year alone we assisted more than 30 organizations, totaling $256,620 in charitable giving. Our major donations from 2018 included $75,000.00 to Heading Home, Inc in support of their fight to end homelessness; $50,000.00 to the James L. McKeown Boys and Girls Club of Woburn to help complete construction of their new clubhouse; and $25,000.00 to the National Brain Tumor Society to fund research, education and patient support programs. We look forward to continuing our pledge to support and impact those in need and can’t wait to see what achievements lie ahead.
Thank you,
The Northern Bank Charitable Foundation
