Local banks band together to donate $300,000 in the fight to end homelessness
A group of Massachusetts-based banks recently celebrated a campaign that raised awareness and $300,000 for nonprofit Heading Home, which works to end homelessness.
Medford, Mass. – May 2, 2022 – A group of Northern Bank employees trimmed shrubs, cleaned sinks, organized basement closets and did much more during a "spring cleanup" at the Medford Family Life Education Center, an emergency shelter and transitional housing center.
The Medford Family Life Education Center is one of seven programs in nonprofit Heading Home’s family shelter portfolio and provides help to eight families that are transitioning from homelessness to permanent housing.
In December 2021, Heading Home dedicated the center to Northern Bank volunteers in recognition of a multiyear partnership of financial and volunteer time support through the Northern Bank Charitable Foundation. The pair are united in the fight to end homelessness and team up annually on Up & Out Moves, holiday sponsorships and much more.
