Braintree, Massachusetts – November 29, 2024 – Northern Bank employees came together this week to assist a family moving into permanent housing through Heading Home’s premier volunteer experience – the Up & Out Program.
The Up & Out Program pairs volunteers with Heading Home clients to facilitate their move out of shelter. In the program volunteers work together to transform a permanent space for a family - purchasing furniture, household goods, food, and essentials, and building and decorating bedrooms to create a welcoming home.
“At Northern Bank, we are committed to building a community where everyone has the opportunity to thrive,” said Jim Mawn, Northern Bank President and CEO. “Partnering with Heading Home allows us to live out that mission by supporting families on their journey to stability and self-sufficiency. Seeing our team come together to create a warm, inviting home for a family is a powerful reminder of the impact we can make when we work together.”
Celebrating 50 years of service, Heading Home is a leading provider of emergency shelter, transitional, and permanent housing for children and adults experiencing homelessness. Last year, Heading Home programs supported more than 3,000 families, with 194 households exiting emergency shelter. Northern Bank is proud to be a steadfast partner in supporting the impactful and transformative work of Heading Home.
