After nine years in Brazil, Real Estate Developer Bruce Daniels was back in the States looking for his next big business endeavor. He began to look at franchise opportunities with Burger King, and his contacts suggested he get in touch with Northern Bank.

FRANCHISE EXPANSION CHALLENGE

"We started out closing on nine Burger King units in 2018,” Bruce explained, “then continued to build new units over the next two years.”

“Our operation is a little different in that we do a lot of new builds in addition to acquisition, so we needed to find a bank that understood that challenge and had a deep knowledge of the franchise business and the QSR (quick-service restaurant) space.”

“If we have the right operations team and financial partner, we can grow quickly,” Bruce said. “We want to continue to develop in the Carolinas and be a 100-unit operator.”

Burger King Franchise Owner/Developer, Bruce Daniels, operates more than 50 stores located in the Carolinas. He received the Developer of the Year Award from Burger King in 2020. Recently, he brought on his former colleague, Lawrence Brown, as his partner in the business. Prior to joining Bruce, Lawrence worked for Burger King corporate. Together, they have plans to continue to expand their units with both new builds and acquisitions, with the help of Northern Bank.
